Delfyd Farm by Rural Office featured in Dezeen, AJ and Wallpaper*

We’re thrilled to see our client Rural Office published in Dezeen, The Architects’ Journal and Wallpaper* with Delfyd Farm – a remote coastal farmhouse in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty on the Gower Peninsula in south Wales.

The project comprises two modest extensions to either side of the existing farmhouse: a guest wing to the east and a dining and sitting room to the west, adjacent to the kitchen. Together they create practical and accessible spaces that allow the home to expand and sub-divide, giving privacy for both owners and guests.

Clad in standing seam and vertical larch with bespoke window units, the new volumes are scaled to emphasise the hierarchy of the original 1895 stone farmhouse, while durable materials respond to the demands of its remote coastal setting. Inside, quarry tiles, oak panelling and vaulted ceilings complement the farmhouse’s mellow tones, bringing warmth, light and a sense of continuity.

Delfyd Farm was also longlisted in the 2025 Dezeen Awards, so a huge congrats to the Rural Office team and all involved.
