Congratulations to Built Works for being shortlisted in the RIBA South East Awards with The Drying Shed Sauna!

Every year, the prestigious RIBA UK Awards recognise thoughtful and innovative projects no matter the size, form, or budget.

This sustainable, off-grid sauna is located in the High Weald Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Here it sits alongside a cluster of holiday Built Works designed eco-cabins, run by Architects Holiday – providing a meditative retreat for cabin guests and the wider public.

Inspired by local agricultural drying sheds, the design features larch shingles, timber corner details referencing traditional façade mechanisms which double as robe storage, and a red exterior that aids way-finding while blending seamlessly with the dappled light of the tree canopies.
