We are very excited to see Mulroy Architects’ transformation of a tired 1920s house into a light-filled family sanctuary – with interiors by No Ordinary House – featured in the Grand Designs newsletter and online.

Mulroy collaborated with Nichola McKerrow Todd, founder of interior design studio, No Ordinary House, who played the dual role of client homeowner and interior designer on the project. The goal was to create a modern home with multiple social areas for entertaining family and friends – including a new basement which serves as vibrant multi-functional space with a gym, screening room, and bar, with potential to convert into a self-contained apartment.

Organised around a double-height courtyard and living plant wall, the design draws inspiration from the breezy beach houses of Horace Gifford, bringing light, flow and a strong connection to nature into family life.
