Great to see Edge House by Hyde + Hyde Architects featured in the July 2025 issue of Concrete Magazine.

Set high above the sea on the West Wales coast, Edge House is defined by its material presence – a home that is as much shaped by its setting as it is by the family who built it. Fair-faced reinforced concrete forms the building’s base, anchoring it to the exposed clifftop terrain and providing long-term durability in the face of coastal weathering.

Inside and out, concrete brings weight, texture and thermal performance – its tactile surfaces casting shifting patterns of light and shadow throughout the day. Above, a glulam and fibre cement structure offers warmth, lightness and contrast – drawing on the material traditions of the region, while pushing them in new directions.
