London Festival of Architecture
The London Festival of Architecture is well established as Europe’s biggest annual architecture festival. In 2017 over 600 public events took place across London, doubling the events registered in 2016. Recognising London as a global hub of architectural experimentation, the festival reminisces the past, provokes questions about the present and inspires ideas for the future to promote positive change across the capital.
The 2017 festival explored the theme of ‘memory’, appropriately chosen as London is a city infused with memory; of people, buildings, places and experiences. London’s built environment, with memories embedded within it, is fundamental to how people experience the city and provides the starting point from which architects, developers and communities can begin to address change.
