Proctor and Matthews Architects
Located south of the village of Lydden in Kent, on the edge of an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, the design for this sensitive development of 31 homes grew out of a contextual response to Lydden and its surroundings.
The architectural and facade composition of each unit is defined by a series of interconnecting planes or walls of either ivory shot-blasted linear blockwork, red brick, oak timber boards or dark grey split-faced blockwork. Lower levels are denoted by textured panels of big dark split-faced blocks, while the upper levels are generally thinner ivory shot-blasted linear blocks.
