Gort Scott Architects
Re-purposing the redundant Waltham Forest Magistrates Court into temporary offices for the London borough’s Council, Gort Scott’s project has transformed this building into one that caters towards a wide range of work settings, including informal meeting areas, collaborative working zones and quiet working desks. A colourful and stripped-back aesthetic is carried throughout, celebrating the existing light-filled brutalist architecture. This design is now the public face of Waltham Forest Council – the first London Borough of Culture for 2019 – and as such, Gort Scott have delivered a robust, contemporary and enjoyable place to work.
