Phillips Tracey Architects
A two-bedroom house on an infill plot has been designed to replace a garage formerly owned by the client’s mother. Phillips Tracey Architects came up with an inventive design that features a dark clay brick to correspond with the weathered brickwork of the older boundary wall. A hallway from the entrance to the home flows into an open-plan living area. Here, the ceilings follow the folded form of the roof for extra impact. Sliding doors link to the two courtyards and expansive glazing helps to boost daylight. Two bedrooms are positioned west of the entrance in a cellular arrangement with the main bedroom facing east and while the other looks onto the street.
