We were delighted to see two of our clients – Bell Phillips Architects and RCKa – take home wins at the 2023 Architecture Today Awards, last night. The AT Awards showcase and celebrate buildings that have stood the test of time and can demonstrate a track record for delivering on their environmental, functional, community and cultural ambitions.
Completed in 2015, Bell Phillips’ Gasholder Park in London’s Kings Cross is this year’s Infrastructure & Public Realm winner. The judges said: “This is a fabulous project that celebrates the architecture of the historic gasholder without overwhelming it, and avoids the trap of over-programming public space.”
RCKa were joint winners of the Religion & Culture category, with TNG Youth & Community Centre for Youth First, located in Sydenham, south-east London and completed in 2013. The judges commented: “This incredible project has enabled and empowered local people as well as the wider community. In the decade since its completion, it has clearly transformed the lives of those associated with it. As a test of time, this achievement will be felt for at least as long as the building itself.”
